When Summer closes her eyes, I don’t wait a moment to run my fingers through her hair and slide my lips across hers. At first, the kisses are small and slow, and she opens her mouth, giving me more access and permission. Her tongue dips into my mouth, massaging mine, and she moans.

I’m lost in the taste of the sweetness on her lips, and it takes every bit of strength I have to pull away. I don’t want to, though. Emotions build and pour through me, and before I can create distance, she sucks on my bottom lip.

This is what wet dreams are made from, what I’ve fantasized about since I was a teenager, and after all these years, here we are, getting lost in each other.

Her eyes flutter open, her lips a swollen mess. I felt something while kissing her, something I’d never felt before—want and need, and an intense desire to have more.

They say some people get addicted after one hit…I understand that now more than ever. With just one kiss, Summer unlocked something deep inside me that’s been dormant for an eternity. It was just a kiss, but a kiss has never overpowered me like that before.

She places her fingers over her lips and meets my eyes. There’s no way she didn’t feel that.

The silence between us grows loud, and I can’t find the proper words.

“That was…” She doesn’t finish her sentence.

Neither of us is thinking straight, our heads are a woozy mess, and my cock is hard as hell.

I grab the bottle of wine, pop the cork, and place it to my lips before passing it to Summer. She chugs, taking four big gulps before handing it back to me.

We crossed a line, one we’ve skirted for over a decade, and I have no regrets.

I got the answer to my question, and now I know it’s more than just a stupid childhood crush.

I felt something wild and intense.

Summer Jones is intoxicating in all the right ways.

I stand, adding more wood to the fire. Now that the sun has set, the temperature is dropping. Once the flames lick up toward the sky again, I sit beside her.

Summer removes her boots and socks, allowing the fire to warm her toes, then lies flat on her back and stares up at the sky. I do the same and join her. It’s so clear tonight, and the stars are bright.

“That right there, the C—that’s the Corona Borealis constellation. You can only see it in the summer months. A lot of different myths and legends go with it. The Greeks saw it as a crown. But my favorite is what the Shawnee tribe believed.” I stare up at it. “Each star represents a dancing maiden. It’s an incomplete circle because one fell in love with a mortal warrior, and she left the sky to live with him on earth.”

“A C of stars in a sea of stars.” She looks up at it, then turns to face me. “I have a confession.”

I look into her eyes, having no idea what she’s going to say, and my heart hammers hard in my chest.
